To be a good fit for the Senior Staff Accountant opportunity, you will have:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will join a team that includes the Chief Operating Officer, an AP Specialist, Student Accounts Manager and a Payroll Coordinator. You'll be responsible for preparing analytical accounting work, ensuring an accurate general ledger and reconciliation of all school accounts. We'll cross-train you in all areas relating to GL, AR, AP and payroll. More about the Role
In addition to the responsibilities described under The Role tab, you will:

• Prepare journal entries; handle daily bank activity including recording cash receipts, credit card deposits, and wire transfers; ensure coding is accurate; and reconcile supporting documents
• Review and mail-merge monthly budget reports
• Assist with the annual budget process
• Review weekly accounts payable reports
• Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements
• Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
• Compile extensive annual survey data
• Prepare and reconcile documentation for annual audit
• Prepare and reconcile documentation for all tax filings
• Manage and maintain fixed assets to include posting entries to the general ledger
• Review financial statements
• Review payroll distributions to ensure accuracy
• Assist with committee presentations
• Work closely with the Advancement office to track and reconcile gifts and pledges
• Maintain fixed asset tracking acquisitions and disposal
• Maintain complete discretion and confidentiality
• Perform additional duties, as assigned
